Dhwani kept thinking about darling before sleeping,she was amazed to see someone dying day by day still living her life to the fullest, still stealing moments of happiness from life,to live a little more,to laugh a little more and then she looked at herself in the mirror,thinking how much time she had lost crying over life for not giving what she wanted while she forget what she still had,the life.Then,finally she thought about Jai,how strong he is amidst of everything happening in his life.
Jai started reading bedtime story to his darling but she was in no mood for story because she was angry as Dhwani left without saying bye to her.Jai took the blame saying,I asked her to leave because it was getting darker outside.Then she started scolding her,I wanted to hug hed before she leaves.Jai started making puppy face,okay so she met you for the first time and you are fighting with me for her.Darling smiled and asked him to come closer so that she could hug him.
She hugged him saying she is really a sweet girl,I rarely had this kind of feeling for someone in first meeting but I really like her.Jai replied, Okay baba,now she has started becoming your favourite over me in first meeting,you can meet her tomorrow,she is coming again.Darling face brightened up hearing this.Then Jai said,but I won't talk to you now,make her your Jai.She laughed,only you are my Jai.
Talking,laughing,and sharing stories,soon she went to sleep,Jai gave blanket over her,kissing her forehead,took the mug of his coffee and went to his favourite window of the room,looking at lights thought to himself,Darling has whole different energy today after meeting Dhwani,might be because she found her name belonging to music which was always close to her heart.Then told himself,let it be any reason at least she laughed her heart out after so long with Dhwani.
Then,his thoughts shifted to Dhwani,how easily she became close to darling,how quickly she has made her space in her heart,then he talked with himself,how couldn't she has not made her space,how simple she is,how easily she became ready to help me out,how gently she accepted my grandma,how much innocent eyes she has,and he remembered her child like laugh.He was happy to find another companion with whom his grandma felt happy.
Next day, at breakfast table, Dhwani told her mother that she would come late for few days or around a month as she is giving some extra classes.Her mother replied,but your centre is functional only until 6 pm,Dhwani told her about classes apart from centre,Her mom tone changed worrying what if anyone get to know she is going beyond norms.Dhwani assured her,nothing like that going to happen maa.I am doing this to earn some extra money to ease our lives a little more.I'll take care,don't worry.
Dhwani reached hospital on time,called Jai and found he will be here in 10 minutes as he went home to take some clothes.So she decided to spend this time with darling,she went there but she found her sleeping so she took the seat beside her and kept looking at grandma and thought,how beautiful soul she is,and then closed her eyes to pray for her said,Why god her? Please God, we need more good souls here.
While she opened her eyes,she found picture scrapbook laying on the side desk,she picked that up to spare time,started looking at the pictures,she guessed a little baby as Jai and grandma looked younger than she is now,the beauty was still there if sickness would have not taken away her charm but still disease was not able to take away beauty of her nature.She has smile while shifting from.one picture to another,she laughed on the one where Jai drew on wall.Then,naked one was so cute,she thought to herself.She kept moving through the pictures like she was scrolling through the life of Jai,she smiled,laughed and felt sad when grandma went to drop off him at school and he looked sad because he might have gone away for the first time.
She got lost in her own thoughts thinking about aadi's first day at school,then deeply she wished how perfect it would have been if aadi would have his father beside him living all these moments with him.Thinking about this,Soon she realised there were no pictures of Jai's parents,since childhood,she started turning pages quickly to find one, and reached at the end of the album where she finally saw the picture of Jai's parents while he was just born.There was a knock at the door,she quickly placed the scrapbook where it was,as she thought it might be Jai and it would look inappropriate she looking at his personal picture album without his permission.
It was the nurse for routine checkup,by hearing knock on the door,grandma was also awake,she smiled wholeheartedly finding Dhwani again,She leaned her hands towards her saying come here hug me,I am angry you went back yesterday without meeting me.Dhwani smiled back hugged her and was so happy to see such child alive in her,said,I am sorry grandma,I would not repeat this,I'll come to see you everyday.I promise,now get your checkups done.
Soon Jai was there,he greeted Dhwani,Good evening,what's up.Dhwani replied,grandma was just angry but I have made her happy.Jai replied,Kudos to you,she never gets happy so easily but you did wow.They all smiled and Jai told grandma that they have some work so they are going cafeteria meanwhile she could get her routine done.
They took the lift till the 9th floor,and from there climbed up few stairs to reach the terrace,there was small store-room on terrace,Jai asked Dhwani to sit on one of the brick block,he went to store-room to bring his ukuleli.Jai came back,without wasting time Dhwani asked him,Have Mr.Das taught you basics? Should I repeat them to you for revision? Jai paused looking at dedicated Dhwani said,Hey thanks for everything you know what darling have laughed and smiled this way after so long.Dhwani replied,Jai are you going to thanks me everyday? Jai laughed,I feel lucky to become part of fulfilling her last wish.
Dhwani asked picking out her notepad,tell me which song you want to learn? He said,"Lag ja gale" that's the song which his grandpa used to sing and it's grandma's favourite song.Dhwani got excited,she told him that's my favourite,wow.I would love to teach you specially this one.She started with revising him the basics of ukulele,asked him to hold ukulele so that she could correct his position of holding ukulele,the posture wasn't correct,Dhwani went behind him to correct his posture but wasn't able to hold her hands properly from both sides because of his muscular build,putting lot of efforts she tried adjusting his hands,Jai started laughing saying,it is tickling me,that's my weak point.They both started laughing,she came in front of him guiding her to place his hands with hands gesture,Jai found it unable to understand.So,she took the ukulele from him telling him the right way to pick up your ukulele is by grabbing it by the neck where the neck meets the body try to keep your elbow at a 90-degree angle while pressing the ukulele against your chest with your forearm.
Then she started with telling him about the chords used in ukulele,Everything starts with the seven major chords that are A B C D E F G . Chord B isn't used much,so basically all chords are easily to play except that isn’t easy to play is the E chord, unfortunately this one is used in a lot of songs. Jai looked horrified after hearing this,thinking about how would he be able to learn it.Dhwani said,don't worry Jai, you are lucky E chord is not there in our song.He gave her sign of relief by smiling.One by one displaying chords in chord chart in her cellphone,she started telling him how to read chart and practice every chord.
It was 7 pm already and they decided to end their session for today and will get back to this tomorrow.He asked Dhwani to share chord chart with him,she said okay.She met grandma,hugged her and left to go back while Jai came to drop her off,Jai pressed the lift button to parking.Dhwani asked, why parking? He replied,I don't want you to go this late alone,my driver will drop you,you already making your best efforts.Dhwani interuppted,but Jai I can manage.Jai insisted saying,let me make also efforts for you.No worries,the driver is with our family since years,you'll be safe with him.
They reached parking,he dropped her off to his car guiding his driver to drop her exactly at her home and wait until she gets in,waving bye to her asked Dhwani to text him when she reaches home.Dhwani smiled back nodding okay.
While way to her home,she had a brief smile on her face seeing Jai's brighter side which she mistook once,she loved the way he cared and asked her to text when she reaches home.Soon,her smile fall off thinking about his parents,as there were no pictures of his parents,he assumed that they may have died,but then she started thinking about Jai more,how he had managed his whole life without his parents being there since childhood,again she smiled thinking how well he was raised by his grandma.
After an hour,she texted Jai, "I have reached safely. :) Thank you for arranging my drop off, here is your chord chart,See you tomorrow".He replied, "Great! :) Good night!".
